mpv-shot0003

DDL

2004 original video movie about an all-girl Sentai team. Starring Shoko Hamada and Sayaka Ue. Apparently, this was meant to be the pilot for a video/TV series, but like with Shin KR, it never went beyond the prologue. Guest appearance by Showa-era tokusatsu legend Hiroshi Miyauchi.

Like Ultraman on steroids. Original video tokusatsu produced between 1990 and 2002, released nationwide on DVD in 2003. Effects switch between chroma keying and miniature models. Early episodes are heavily influenced by 80s action movies, later episodes cater to military otakus by including lots of real life JSDF footage. Features several tribute kaiju along with guest appearances by Eiichi Kikuchi (Return of Ultraman) and Yukijiro Hotaru (Gamera Heisei, Garo).
